TOMB RUN
A free arcade survival game you play in a web browser. You are a wizard running down an endless tomb corridor. You hold and slide side to side to dodge; your spells fire on their own; one hit kills you. A run lasts about ninety seconds.
How to play
On a phone or tablet, hold a finger on the game and slide from side to side. On a desktop or laptop, click and hold, then move the mouse side to side. Release to stop steering.
You never press an attack button. Every weapon fires on its own timer, so the entire game is where you stand — lining up shots, threading gaps, and deciding which lane is about to become a bad idea. One hit ends the run, so there is no health bar to manage and no trading damage.
Boss fights change the rule. The corridor stops scrolling, the boss stands and trades with you, and the lane opens into a band you can also step forward and back in. Keep a phone in portrait.
Spells and weapons
Pick up new spells as you level up or buy them from the traveller. Arcane Bolt is what you start with. Magic Missiles seek their target. Frost Fan throws a spread; Ice Lance is a single long shot. Acid Orb and Fireball deal in area damage, Chain Lightning jumps between bodies, and Soul Spear goes through them. Meteor Shower and Sunbeam arrive from above. Fist of God gives you three seconds to steer its target before a giant fist crushes the marked area. If you would rather be close, the Dagger, Oak Staff and Runeblade swing instead of firing.
What is down there
Seven kinds of monster, and they do not arrive in a polite order. Skeletons are the crowd. Goblins are quick, Rock Golems soak damage, and Mummies are big enough to block a lane on their own. Imps come in numbers, Green Slimes hunt you, and a Necromancer will throw a spell down the corridor from somewhere you have not looked yet — the single most common way to die after simply walking into something.
Every ten rooms a boss is waiting. The Demon Lord is the first. Deeper in you meet the Slime Tyrant, and from room forty the Eclipse Pharaoh, who stops to telegraph each cast and attacks faster once it is hurt. Each boss you beat makes the next one tougher.
Getting stronger
Three things carry you, on three different clocks. Enchantments last one run: level up mid-run and you choose one of three, so no two runs build the same wizard. A reward card is chosen after you die and carried into the next run only. Ranks and relics are permanent — gold comes from killing things, and a travelling shop turns up every six rooms with one item, which is a real decision rather than a shopping list.
Questions people ask
Is it free? Yes, completely. No purchases, no account, no sign-up, nothing to unlock with money.
Do I have to install anything? No. It is a web page — open it and tap once. If you want it on your home screen you can add it, and it works offline after the first visit, but nothing asks you to.
What do I need to run it? Any current browser with WebGL. It is built mobile-first and tested on iOS Safari and Chrome on Android, and it works on a desktop or laptop too.
Does my progress save? Yes, in your own browser. There is no account, so clearing your browser data clears it — use Transfer on the results screen to move progress to another device.
